How to train your rotator cuff

The rotator cuff is a group of muscles and tendons that surround the shoulder joint.⁣⁣⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀

Strengthening them is a good idea to avoid injury particularly if you're lifting heavy weights regularly.⁣⁣⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀

However, for some inexplicable reason, many people who train them seem to forget one of the most basic laws of physics - that gravity points down!⁣⁣⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
⁣⁣⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
If you are going to train your rotator cuff through external rotation (as shown in the picture), then you need to do so with a cable! If you do it with a dumbbell the line of resistance is completely wrong, and you are not going to be working the rotator cuff!⁣⁣
